Glenn E. Jones, age 87, passed away at 11:58 pm Monday, April 2, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
He was born on June 6, 1924 in Dundas, Il the son of the late Harry and Leah (Nicholas) Jones.
Glenn married June Patterson on December 18 in 1944. She survives.
He served his country in the US Navy during WW II, on the aircraft carrier USS Soloman in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. He was employed as a post master in Bulpitt, Il for over 30 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Kincaid, Il, and the Masonic Lodge in Edinburg. Il.
He is survived by his wife, and two sons and their spouses; Harry and Victoria Jones of Fort Collins, CO, and John and Barbara Jones of Alton, Il, four grandchildren; Samantha Jones, Alexis Jones, Aaron Jones and Emily Helling, one great-grandchild; Andrew Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Harold Jones.
Per his wishes cremation rights where accorded.
Visitation will be from 4 pm until 7 pm, Friday April 6, 2012 at Masterson Funeral Home located at 146 Central Ave in Kincaid, IL.
Burial will follow at a later date.
