Gladys Weed

GLADYS WEED GRAFTON-  Gladys M. Weed, 83, went home to be with the Lord with a gentle passing, at 11:40 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2015 at Integrity Health Care of Wood River.She was born in Alton on Dec. 26, 1931, the daughter of Hubert & Alberta Marie (Calvin) Simpson.Gladys was a loving wife, mother and wonderful grandmother who touched the lives of many people, not just her family, as she was loved by all.She was married to George Weed Sr., and together they were the parents of seven children, six of whom survive, Aleta Towell of Otterville, Cindy Weed of Grafton, Edward Weed of Batchtown, Carolyn Warnhoff of Grafton, Ada Cramer, and her husband, Matt of Dow, and Ben Weed of Grafton; four grandchildren, Donna Renken of Otterville, Marie Weed of Kane, Heather Cramer of Dow, Emily Weed of Hardin; and three great grandchildren, Jenna Renken, Shane Weed, and Kaylee PillmanCrader.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son & daughter in law, George & Michele Weed Jr.; a grandson, Richard Towell; two sons in law, Jan Towell and Steven Warnhoff; and four brothers, John Ramsey Jr., James Simpson, Norman Simpson, and Hubert "Red" Simpson.Per her wishes cremation has taken place.A Memorial Visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m.., Tuesday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, and all family and friends are invited to come honor her life.
