Geroldine “Gerry” Trimm, 83, passed away at 4:51 AM on October 31, 2020 at her home with her children by her side.
Gerry was born February 15, 1937 in Roodhouse, IL, the daughter of Riley and Ida (Fry) Mathews. She married Curtis Trimm on January 27, 1954 in Alton, IL.
Geroldine worked at Owens Illinois Glass works for 30 years. She enjoyed gambling and loved watching her grandchildren play sports and spending time with her family. Gerry was a proud cancer survivor.
She is survived by her children; Steve (Joni) Trimm of Carlinville, IL, Sheryl (Bruce) Wyman of Bradenton, FL, Dee (Roger) Wooley of Holiday Shores, Brenda (Jim) Powers of Plainview, IL and Tammy Trimm and Robert Farmer of Cottage Hills, IL brother; Riley (Gloria) Mathews of Alton, IL, sister; Sharon (Jerry) Cox of Alton, IL, grandchildren; Lea Patterson, Jill Gonzales, Janell Santigo, Kara Luca, Nick Wooley, Hayden Powers, Andrea Powers, Sam Powers, Becky Powers, Shannon Collins, Ashley Logsdon, Tiffany Bock, Chelsie Freytag, Hayden Trimm, Ethan Trimm and 38 great-grandchildren.
Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson; Curtis Bryan, sisters; Donna Ellis, Rosetta Stone, Rita & Frida Mathews, Joan Mathews, and brother; Rodney Mathews.
A visitation will be held at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Due to Covid restrictions, the funeral will be private.
Burial will follow at Fosterburg Cemetery in Fosterburg, IL.
