Georgia R. Blackketter, age 50, went to be with the Lord at 8:50 am on Friday, February 19, 2021.

She was born March 29, 1970, in Alton, the daughter of Darwin Blackketter of Bethalto and the late Margaret M. (Heffner) Blackketter

Georgia was a dedicated nurse (LPN) and caregiver who always took the time to give quality care to her patients at the nursing homes where she worked. Georgia’s passions included being a nurse, attending Rock ‘N Roll concerts (Her favorite band being AC/DC), watching the St. Louis Cardinals, casual gardening, baking, caring for her pets, and spending time on the Florida Beaches with her Twin Sister and Goddaughter. Nothing gave her more joy than being able to spend time with all her family and friends. She was also a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto.

She is survived by her life partner, Alisa Winzer of St. Louis, MO; one son and daughter-in-law, Aaron (Karen) Blackketter of Godfrey, IL, one granddaughter, Breeya Croxford-Stone; one daughter, LaShaun and Carl Wallace of St. Louis, MO, one grandson, MJ Wallace; her twin sister Frances Blackketter of Cocoa, FL, Niece and Goddaughter Shannon Culleton; five other siblings and their spouses, Peggy and Mike Lexow of Troy, IL, Jim Blackketter and Mona Agger of Cincinnati, OH, Christopher Blackketter and Tina Little, of Godfrey, Karen and Greg Mathis of Wood River, Jeanine Blackketter of Edwardsville; nine other nieces and nephews, Cassi Little, Nicole Blackketter, Travis Marks, Tyler (Alicia) Marks, Taylor Marks, Ben (Rachael) Blackketter, Christopher Lexow, and Nathan Lexow; five great-nieces and great-nephews, Jared, Drake, Bryce, Addilynn, and Lily; and many cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 10:30 am until the time of the funeral at 1:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, with Father Tom Liebler officiating.

Burial will take place at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
