George Washington Bowers, Jr

George Washington Bowers, Jr., 84 of Cooper, passed away Wednesdsay, November 17th in Dallas.



Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 21st, at the First United Methodist Church in Cooper with Ministers, LeRoy Reaves, Ed Dodd, Steve Cook and Doug Wintermute officiating and interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of the Delta Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends from 6PM  to 8 PM at Saturday night at the funeral home.



Mr. Bowers was born in Macoupin County, Ill., May 23, 1926.  He was the  son of Mr. & Mrs. George Washington
Bowers, Sr., served in the US Navy during WW II in the Pacific.  He was Newman Electric Plant Manager, Garland Power & Light and had lived in Delta County since 1990.



Survivors:  Wife:  Delma Bowers - Cooper



Sons & Daughter-in-Laws:  Michael & Liz Bowers - Rowlette Stephen & Sheilah Bowers-Garland, Doug & Pam Wintermute-Longview, Dalen & Lisa Wintermute-Trophy Club, Dohrman & Francie  Wintermutte - North Richand Hills.


Daughters & Son-in-Laws:  Pauletta & Ronnie Scchrick - Garland, Diane & Scotty Stegall-Cooper, Delaine& Tom Fast-Garland and Delinda Leatherwood-Cooper.

3 Brothers:  Floyd Bowers-Jerseyville, Ill, Kenneth Bowers-Jerseyville,  Ill and James Randall Bowers-Tulsa, OK.  Sisters:  Helen Kinsey-Jerseyville, Ill aand Lois Dugger-Carrollton-Ill.

18 grand children  11 great-grandchildren In lieu of flowers dontations can be made to the American Heart
Association or Charity of your choice. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mildred Gross, Emma  Dugger and brothers, Paul Bowers & Charles Bowers.
