George W. Belangee, 70, passed away at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 4, 1941 in Alton, he was the son of Carl and Pearl V. (Robinette) Belangee.
The East Alton-Wood River High graduate worked for United Airlines as a cargo supervisor for 37 ½ years, retiring in 1998.
He married Janice K. Beasley, and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage. She survives.
George’s family always came first in his life. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, James C. (Lee Ann) Belangee of Bethalto; 2 grandchildren, Jessica, his Queen and Megan, his Princess; a sister, Linda (Joe) Anderson of Moro; and a sister-in-law and her husband, Ramona and Marvin Bonner of Dorsey; and very much loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Michael Belangee.
Visitation will be at Paynic Home for Funerals Friday, June 22 from 11 a.m. until services begin at 1 p.m. Pastor Jason Pierce will officiate. .
Burial will follow at Woodland Hill Cemetery in East Alton.
