Gaudelia M. O. Gallup, 90, died at 9:07 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Alton. Born September 29, 1922 in Santa Punta, Manila, Philippines, she was the daughter of Marcelino and Petrana (Del Rosario) Obrero. She retired from the Olin Corporation after 26 years of service. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton, a former member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Alton Moose Lodge. She loved her family, the U.S.A., and the Philippines where she was born, but above all she loved God. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan and loved Elvis Presley and “Steve Davis.” On June 3, 1960 she married Robert Gallup Sr. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1970. Surviving are three daughters, Angelina Rogero of Alton, Frances R. Schlemer (Mike Sr.) of Bethalto, and Sharon Kay Creasy and special friend, Jeff Nickell of Alton, one son, Robert E. Gallup Jr. (Amy) of Jacksonville, IL, 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Anna Gallup of Bethalto, special son-in-law, Joe Williams, a host of nieces and nephews, and special friends, Connie Brown, Marilee Rubenstein, and Rosie Kochanski. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Neil F. McClintock, a daughter, Alice Marie Williams, a grandson, Timothy F. Woods, three brothers, Modesto, Restituto, and Apolonario Obrero, and one sister, Constance Miller. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton. Monsignor Kenneth Steffen will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
