Gary Bauer

Gary L. Bauer, 86, of Dorchester, IL, died at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL on Monday, September 27, 2021, at 12:25 am. 

He was born on August 6, 1935, in St. Louis, MO to John H. Bauer & Anna Alice (Niebrand) Bauer.  He married Sharon M. (Emanuel) Bauer on June 22, 1958, in Gillespie, IL.  She preceded him in death on July 30, 2013.  He married Marsha (Reid) Heyen Bauer on November 8, 2014, in Dorchester, IL.  He was retired after having been a lineman for MJM for 40 years and a farmer.  Gary was a veteran of the US Army after having served in Korea.  He was a member of the VFW of Gillespie, IL, and Masonic Lodge of Bunker Hill, IL. 

He is survived by his spouse, Marsha Bauer of Dorchester, IL, daughters, Gail Bauer of Decatur, IL, Ann Marie (Jay) Bauer Ross of Gillespie, IL, grandson, Gary Thomas Bauer Ross, brother, John F. (Janice) Bauer of Bunker Hill, IL, sister, Helen Day of Bunker Hill, IL, sister in law, Evelyn Bauer Bilyeu, several nieces and nephews and his faithful dog, Brutus. 

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sharon Bauer, and brother, Thomas A. Bauer.
