Gary Hartman, 69, went to be with the Lord at 9:35 am Friday January 21, 2011 while peacefully resting in his sleep.
He was born on May 30, 1941 in Alton.
He loved the Lord and was a charter member of Calvary Temple in Alton and enjoyed Southern Gospel Music immensely. He was also an avid Cardinal Fan.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Donna & Rev. Lionel Gruver of Alton, Nathan, Nick and Whitney Gruver, a sister Shirley Jones of East Alton, a very special caregiver, Jackie (Bland) of Alton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ebert & Harriet (Montague) Elliott; three sisters, Pearlie Mae Stamm, Lil Helfrich, and Gaye (Huber) Wren; and one brother, Amos Elliott.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4 pm until time of funeral services at 7 pm Monday January 24, 2011 at Calvary Temple in Alton.
Burial will be private on Tuesday January 25, 2011 at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Temple in Alton.
