Frederick Monroe

Frederick Duane Monroe, 56, passed away at 8:02 am on Monday, March 1, 2021 in his home.
He was born on June 22, 1964 in Alton, the son of Cloyd and Hollace (Sons) Monroe.
Fred was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving between 1987 and 1989.
He married Victoria “Vici” Lynnette Halbert on June 20, 1997 in Alton. She preceded him in death on November 23, 2020.
He was an intrastate truck driver and loved his dog, “Sandy”.
Fred is survived by two sons, Randy (Becki) Rhyne of Edwardsville and Aaron Rhyne of East Alton; two daughters, Ashley (James) Shelton of Edwardsville and Brittany (Rafa) Lopez of Granite City; a brother, Kevin Monroe; two sisters, Judith Hatcher of Granite City and Flora Monroe in Florida; and his best friend, Doris Dobbs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
