Frank William Watrous, 77, of Alton, Illinois and formerly of Fort Wayne, Indiana, went to be with his Lord, September 27, 2012 at Alton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Frank was born January 9, 1935 in Gibson City, Illinois to Theodore Verner and Alice Ada Anthony Watrous. He married Carolyn Ort on October 1, 1961 in Camden, Michigan. He was a 1954 graduate of Alton High School. After graduating from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, in 1957, Frank pastored a church in Camden, Michigan and later moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana. There he worked many years for Meadow Gold Dairies as route salesman. Additionally he worked in sales with several other businesses, before moving to Alton in 2004. Frank is survived by sons Mark Watrous and Victor Allen (Margaret) Watrous and a daughter, Kayella Watrous (Aaron) Clay all of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Also mourning his passing are two granddaughters, Susan and Kristen Watrous and a grandson, Connor Clay also of Fort Wayne. He is also survived by sisters: Mary Watrous, of Alton, Kathy (Larry) Mears of Rockbridge, Illinois and a brother Dan (Gale) Watrous of Freedom, Pa. and five nieces and many great-nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alton. His Christian faith meant much to him. He never met a stranger and was happiest spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling, volunteering at nearby nursing homes and caring for his pets. Visitation will be from 9:30 until time of funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be at Witt Cemetery, southwest of Rockbridge, IL. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Alton.
