Frank J. Lavite, 80, passed away 2:35 pm, Sunday, January 31, 2021, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born March 24, 1940 in Wood River, he was the son of Peter and Angelina (Frisina) Lavite.
A U.S. Army veteran, he was a warehouseman for Schwartz Furniture in Wood River for 33 years before retiring.
On September 11, 1965, in Wood River, he married Donna Johnson. She survives.
Surviving also are three daughters, Jackie (Deron) Griffin of Godfrey, Cathy (Dave) Berkenbile of Edwardsville, Angie (Rob) Sherman of East Alton; four grandchildren, Nick and Emily Berkenbile, John Griffin, Zachary Sherman;and three brothers, Joseph (Madeline) Lavite of Jerseyville, Anthony Lavite of Wood River and John (Susie) Lavite of Moro.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Salvatori Lavite, Jack Lavite, Vincent Lavite; and a sister, Jacqueline Thomas.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm, Thursday at Holy Angels Parish Church in Wood River, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Friday. Father Donald Wolford will officiate.
Burial will follow in Woodland Hill Cemetery.
