Francis Joseph “Frank” Henrion Sr., 72, passed away at 5:02 PM on Friday, December 21, 2012 at his home with his family at his side.
Frank was born on April 17, 1940 in Alton, IL., one of five children born to the late John & Margaret (Whyers) Henrion.
He married the former Mary Jane Drake on December 30, 1961 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton, IL and together they have shared 50 wonderful years together.
Frank was a graduate of St. Clair High School in St. Clair, MO and upon graduation became employed with the City of Alton where he remained for several years before he began working in the Auto Parts Industry, retiring in 2000 after 30 years of service.
While Frank was dedicated and hard working in his career, he will be most remembered for being a true family man. He was devoted to his wife, his children and most especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he loved very much.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Henrion; 5 children and their spouses, Margie (Mike) Lair of Jerseyville, Terry Henrion of Rushville, Julia (Steve) Dixon of Fieldon, Frank Henrion Jr. of St. Louis, MO, and Amy Henrion of Jerseyville; six grandchildren and their spouses, Michael(Heather) Lair, Matthew Lair, Christopher (fiancé Patricia) Bader, Monica (Daniel) Castrejon, Holly Henrion, and Alexandra Henrion; 5 great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Daniel, Zachary, Evan and Miranda; Dear friends, Linda and Jack Donato of Troy as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Patrick Henrion; 2 brothers, John Henrion II and “Mickey” Henrion; as well as 2 sisters, Martha Dykemin and Anna Henrion.
Per his wishes, cremation rights will be accorded. A Celebration of Frank’s Life will be held at a later date.
The family requests that any acts of kindness be directed in the form of a memorial to the Jersey County Relay For Life in care of Crawford Funeral Home.
