Fayne Eileen Ruyle

Fayne Eileen Ruyle, 87, died at 11:52 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton. Born February 29, 1928 in North Palmyra City, IL, she was the daughter of Roscoe S. Shumway and Lula (Branan) Ballard. Mrs. Ruyle was a secretary for Giberson Insurance Company for 25 years and also for Tutoky Insurance for six years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alton. She married Robert Jenkins in 1946. He preceded her in death. She married William “Bill” Ruyle on July 16, 1977 at Calvary Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2003. Surviving are two daughters, Sharon DeBlass (Carmen) of Alton, and Debra Jenkins of St. Louis, MO, a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Gillam (Darryl) of St. Louis, MO, three step-children, Deborah Withers (Scott) of Coffeen, IL, Kevin Ruyle (Joanie) of Jerseyville, and Steve Ruyle (Stacey) of Jerseyville, 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, one brother, Marvin Shumway (Louise) of Wood River, two half-brothers, William “Skip” Shumway and James Shumway, and two half-sisters, Patty Luers and Sandra Mombesger. Along with her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by a son, Rodney, a granddaughter, Candice Withers-Walz, and a sister, Virginia Tisdale. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon Monday, March 16, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Andre’ Dobson will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. In memory of grandma, monetary gifts may be given to the Homebound Ministry at Calvary Baptist Church as well as continue to carry on her tradition of hugs and acts of kindness towards others. The family would like to thank BJC Hospice, Provision Living, Eunice Smith Nursing Home, and the Methodist Village for their love and kindness.
