Eva L. Stumpf, 81, passed away at 12:15 am on Friday, June 15, 2012 at Bethalto Care Center.
She was born on February 12, 1931 in Golden Eagle, IL, the daughter of Paul and Eileen (Arnold) Friedel.
She married Vincent E. Stumpf on May 7, 1955 in Brussels, IL. He passed away on March 7, 2012
Eva was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto, where she helped with the funeral luncheons. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Fran and Russell Gentry of Bethalto, Paul and Barb Stumpf of Edwardsville, Dave and Susan Stumpf of Bunker Hill, Dan Stumpf and his friend, Trudy Kaufman of Springfield; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Sanya Gentry, Staci and Steve Lawson, Amanda and Steve Bantle, Kyle and Michelle Stumpf, Natalee and Matt Wieseman, Shannon Stumpf, Jenni Stumpf and her fiancé, Matt Terry and Jamie Stumpf; four great grandchildren, Kailynn, Sophia, Kenlee and Emery; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Delbert Friedel of Edwardsville, Ron and Patsy Friedel of St. Charles, MO, Larry and Mary Friedel of Golden Eagle, IL and Lee and Janet Friedel of Bethalto and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Tim Stumpf, and two brothers, John and Wayne Friedel.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am until a funeral Mass at 11 am on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Tom Liebler officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
