Ethel E. Budde, 100, passed away at 8:25 pm on Tuesday April 2, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
She was born on June 9, 1912 in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of John Votrian, and Grace (Levi) Votrian.
She married Clarence F. Budde on February 6, 1935 in Alton; he preceded her in death on February 12, 1999.
Ethel graduated from Marquette Catholic High School in 1930, earning the honor of Valedictorian; she was civic-minded working on the County Election Board, a charter member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, and a member of The Daughter’s of Isabella in Wood River. She also enjoyed travel around the country with her husband in their motor home.
She is survived by her daughter; Dolores Ullrich of St Louis, MO. Three Grandchildren; Ralph Ullrich of Alton, Roy Ullrich of Florissant, MO, Amy and spouse Michael Brinkley of Alton, IL., and two great grandchildren, Gretchen and Damon Ullrich.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son-in-law Donald Ullrich.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Friday April 5, 2013 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 am, Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Wood River, IL, Father Jim Flach and Father Jerry Wickenhauser will be the celebrants.
Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery, in Edwardsville, IL.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
