Ethan James Layton, 4, passed away at 12:05 pm Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born on July 7, 2010 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Robby James and Monica Lynn (Kaufmann) Layton.
Ethan was a special child that has touched many lives, his smile would light up the room, he spoke only through his laughter. The joy in his life was the music around him and the sunshine on his handsome face. Everyone who met him fell in love with this beautiful child.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his siblings, Aaron Layton, Caleb Dolbee, Kyle Dolbee, Patience Layton and Allison Layton; his grandparents, Debora Layton of Meadowbrook, Darrin and Tammy Kaufmann of East Alton and Lisa and Daniel Fessler of Jerseyville; his great grandparents, Margaret Layton of Meadowbrook, Carlene Kaufmann of St. Louis, MO and Juanita Fessler of Jerseyville and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Layton and Bobby Allison, his uncles, Randy Layton and David Allison.
Visitation will be from 10 to 12 on Friday, August, 8, 2014 at Meadowbrook First Assembly of God Church. Funeral services will be at the church Friday at 1 pm with Pastor Alta Vaughn officiating.
Memorials may be made to the family.
