Estle H. Click, 96 of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.
Estle was born on August 1, 1925, in Salem, Missouri; the son of the late Hugh A. Delbert and Virgie E. (Kinder) Click. Estle was a security guard for the Curtis Detective Agency and had worked as a welder for over 30 years for A.O. Smith. Estle proudly served his country in the United States Navy in WW II and was a traveling evangelist most of his adult life. In his free time, Estle enjoyed playing his guitar and crocheting. He enjoyed watching westerns and women's college softball on television. He was always ready to spend time with his family. Estle will be remembered for the love of his family and all the special times they shared together.
Estle is survived by and will be missed by his daughter; Judy Prier of St. Charles, MO; sons, David and Kaye Click of Huntland, TN, Clay Click of Granite City, IL; Daughters-in-law; Mildred Click of Winchester, TN, Glenda Click Belevidere, TN, brother, Harold Dee and Lavada Click of Oklahoma; sister, Helen Inman and husband Bobby of Salem, MO; 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Estle was preceded in death by his wife; Hildred L. (Wells) Click, whom he married on February 23, 1946; sons, James Click, Curtis Click, Mark Click; brothers, Roy Fox, Lee Fox, Charles Click, Billy Click, Earl Click; sisters, Betty Stringer, Lorene Curley and great-grandchild Courtney Eley.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In celebration of Estle’s life, funeral services will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Vollmar officiating. Burial will follow with full military rites at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association or to the Wounded Warriors Project.
