Emma Louise Sanders, 95, died at 7:28 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at her home.  Born December 2, 1915 in Murrayville, IL, she was the daughter of Glenn H. and Pearl (Van Hyning) Madison.  She retired in June 1977 as a machine operator for the Olin Corporation and was a member of the Godfrey First United Methodist Church.  On April 24, 1934 in Alton, she married Arnold R. Sanders Sr.  He preceded her in death on May 20, 1975.  Surviving is a son, Arnold R. Sanders Jr. and his wife Marion Jo of Godfrey, six grandchildren, Mickey Young, Kim Manees, Greg Sanders, Scott Sanders, Steve Trout, and Linda Trout, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, one brother David Madison of Centralia, two sisters, Kathryn Tribout of Belleville, and Alma Schultz of Orlando, FL.  She was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Bernice and Shirley Sanders, a foster son, Jerry Trout, a great grandson, Chris Hanson, three brothers, Stanley, Charles and George Madison, and four sisters, Martha Kernozelk, Velma McDonald, Janet Mynick, and Dalma Traywick.  Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.  Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.  Reverend Don E. Long Jr. will officiate.  Memorials may be made to the Godfrey First United Methodist Church or the 5A’s Animal Shelter.
