Emma Jane (Breitweiser) Antrae, 93 died at 12:50 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Delhi, Illinois on December 6, 1918, the daughter of the late Fred and Lillie Ross Breitweiser.
Throughout her life, she was homemaker and employed at Roach’s Shoe Store, The Music Shop and Sinclair Food Mart. She was a faithful member of Peace United Church of Christ in Jerseyville, where she belonged to the Christian Worker’s and participated in the Wheels-on-Wheels program with her husband, Stew. In addition, she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 38 years.
She married Stewart Antrae on October 9, 1965 and they have shared almost 47 years of marriage. Together they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, dancing at the Moose Lodge and bowling in several different leagues.
Family was very important to her. She always made time to babysit or entertain her many nieces and nephews whether it was just a few hours, overnight or several days. They all have numerous memories or stories of spending time with Aunt Emma and Uncle Stew in the hills of Fieldon.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Marjorie Beiser, a brother, Herbert Breitweiser and one sister-in-law, Mary Frances Breitweiser. Her nieces; Luann Breitweiser, Vicki (Dennis) Williams, Becky Beiser, Connie Breitweiser, Linda (Eldon) Schaake, Beth (Dennis) McGlasson and Brenda (Terry) Murphy and her nephews; Donald (Susan), Ronald and Ross (Michelle) Breitweiser and Ronald (Merry) Geisler.
She was preceded in death by six brothers; Frank, Dixon, Edward, John, Fred and Peter and three sisters; Faye Chappell, Vida Breitweiser and Mary Miller and three nephews; Donald Chappell, John Breitweiser and David Breitweiser and one niece ; Patsy Breitweiser Farley.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Peace United Church of Christ in Jerseyville, with the Rev. Theodore Engelsdorfer officiating. Interment following at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
Memorials may be given to Peace United Church of Christ.
