Emily Sonnier, 37, passed away at 9:27 pm Monday August 27, 2012 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born in Alton, IL, the daughter of John E. and Evelyn Joan (Cook) Stephens.
On July 7, 2006 Emily Married Jeremy Sonnier at the Riverview Park in Alton, IL. He survives.
She was a member of the Beltline Christian Center and worked as a Pharmacy Technician as well as an Avon Representative. She graduated from Lewis and Clark Community College, receiving her Associates Degree with Honors. She was Volunteer at Great Rivers Museum and at the Learn To Read at L.C.C.C.
In addition to her parents and husband, Emily is survived by, her nieces and nephews, Noah Herrin, Stephanie Williams, Heather Herrin, Joshua Heaton, Jayme Stephens, Alex Stephens, Sean Stephens, Lydia Stephens, Dylan Embry, Delaney Embry, Calvin Joyce, Grant Joyce and Scarlet Joyce; her brother and his wife, David and Samantha Stephens; sisters and their husbands, Shelley and Jim Embry, and Mandy and Nathan Joyce; as well as several cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, John E. Stephens II, James P. Stephens, and Robert S. Stephens; and one niece, Ashley Herrin.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Friday August 31, 2012 at Staten Fine Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral Service will be Saturday September 1, 2012 at 10am at the Beltline Christian Center with Pastor Matthew Prince officiating.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
