Emily Ikue-Rose Hampshire gained her wings on Saturday, November 3, 2018 and became our sweet angel.
Born on October 22, 2004, Emily spent the 14 years of her life making everyone around her smile. She was a bright student always reading and writing, ready to learn more. Emily was a graceful dancer, cheerleader, and liked to play volleyball. She also loved to sing and act.
Emily will be missed by many, but most of all by her mom and dad, Amber (Woolsey) and Zach Hampshire. Her little brother and best buddy, Ethan (9). Grandparents, Don and Sally Woolsey of Jerseyville and Jo and Jerry Hampshire of Godfrey. Two special uncles, Dr. Derek Woolsey and Alex (Julia) Woolsey. She also leaves behind Aunt Mary and Uncle Jimmy Woolsey, Uncle Ryan Hampshire, and four cousins, Morrison and Arlo Woolsey and Quentin and Jack Hampshire. As well as a “village” of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Hope Hampshire.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2018 at The Bridge Church in Alton. Reverend Steven Helfrich will officiate.
Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to the family to give to charities that were important to Emily.
