Edward Royce “Fast Eddie” Sholar, 61, of Alton passed away July 22, 2015. He was born August 16, 1953 at Scott Air Force Base Hospital in St. Clair County, IL, the son of Dexter Atwood Sholar and Norma Lee (Schelle) Sholar. He was preceded in death by his mother, he is survived by his father and children, Amy Sholar, Edward “Eddie” Sholar Jr., Maggie Sholar, Katherine (Chris) Wilson, (and their mother Sarah Farley Woodman), Danielle (Mick) McCahill, (and her mother Breda Laplante), grandchildren, Sadie and Joe Lupercio, Abigail Sholar, Sarah, Charles and Grace Sholar, Emma and Trent Wilson and Mazy McCahill, brothers, Michael “Elwood” Sholar, Richard “Hawk” Sholar, John (Shannon) Sholar, and sisters, Katherine “Kat” (Mike) Brunaugh, Sandra “Sam” Rynders and Rhonda (Paul) Elmendorf and numerous nieces, nephews extended family and former wife Tina Siemer. Eddie graduated from Alton High School in 1971 and then owned and operated numerous businesses until his retirement in 2008. The family wishes to express their gratitude to all who have assisted them in their grief and memorials would be appreciated to the Alton Boys and Girls Club. Abiding by Eddie’s wishes all services were private and his remains were interred at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Gent Funeral Home in Alton was in charge of arrangements.
