Edmond L. Reed, 83, passed away Monday, December 8, 2014 at his home.
Born May 19, 1931 in Dodge City, Kan., he was a son of Frieda (Watson) Graham and Rolland K. Reed.
The US Navy veteran worked as an ironworker for years, and later became a transportation driver for the Madison County Juvenile Detention Center.
Survivors include two daughters and a beloved son-in-law, Marion Reed of Georgia and Cynthia and Larry Huffman of East Alton; grandchildren Corey Mitchell, Brian Eggers, Brooke and Valerie Reed, Desarae Reed, and Cara Foiles; several great grandchildren; a great-great grandson and a great-great granddaughter; and a brother, Bob Reed of Elsah.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Frieda and Raymond Graham; his sons James and Robert Reed; a granddaughter, Marissa Reed; a sister, Juanita Jouett; his significant other of 30 years, Jackie Mills; and his father, Rolland K. Reed.
Memorial visitation will be Monday, Dec. 15 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 4 p.m. until memorial services begin at 6 p.m.
