Earl R. Klenke, age 83 of Edwardsville, IL, died Monday, October 11, 2021, at Cedarhurst of Edwardsville in Edwardsville, IL. 

He was born on Thursday, March 10, 1938, in rural Edwardsville, the son of Louis and Malinda (nee Ziegler) Klenke. 

On Sunday, January 11, 1959, he married Doris M. Klenke, nee Wiehe. 

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alhambra, IL, served on the Harris Cemetery Board from 1974-1999, a member of the National MPS Society, and a former member of the NFO (National Farmer’s Organization). 

Earl was born and raised in rural Edwardsville. He served with the US Army and was stationed in Korea. He and his wife moved on the farm in rural Edwardsville in 1959. He was a grain and livestock farmer. They lived on the farm until 2005 when they moved to their new home one mile east of the farm. He had a good mechanical aptitude, a talent for fabrication, and also had good carpentry skills. He always enjoyed helping others with projects. In his later years, he continued to enjoy studying the Bible, eating ice cream, and playing cards.” 

Survivors include: Daughter - Kathy M. (Howard) Elmy, O Fallon, MO; Son - Dale R. (Valerie) Klenke, Worden, IL; Daughter - Linda S. (David) Hooks, Alhambra, IL; Son - Brian L. (Kristine) Klenke, Worden, IL; Grandchild - Nathan D. (Margaret) Elmy; Grandchild - Clayton H. (Clair) Elmy; Grandchild - David R. Klenke; Grandchild - Audrey M. (Josh) Peebles; Grandchild - Darren S. (Betsy) Hooks; Grandchild - Jason D. (Brooke) Hooks; Grandchild - Chelsey N. (Specialist Matthew Robertson, Army National Guard) Robertson; Sister - Darlene (Leo) Rode, Grantfork, IL. 

He was preceded in death by: Father - Louis Wilhelm Klenke - Died 10/24/1984; Mother - Malinda Katherine Anna Klenke (nee Ziegler) - Died 10/26/1970; Wife - Doris M. Klenke (nee Wiehe) - Died 11/23/2019; Grandchild - Kraig Anthony Klenke - Died 10/26/2010; Brother - Hilbert C. Klenke - Died 7/22/2019; Brother - Edwin L. Klenke - Died 6/17/2017; Brother - Lester L. Klenke - Died 9/8/2017; Sister - Louise E. Woods - Died 9/9/2006; Sister - Edna M. Eberhart - Died 3/20/2018; Sister - Ella L. Ostendorf - Died 3/19/2019; Sister - Wilmer A. Klenke - Died 3/8/1996; Sister - Gladys L. Wilkening - Died 3/21/2019. 

Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra, IL. 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Alhambra, IL, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Friday, October 15, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Alhambra, IL. 

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 15, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Alhambra, IL, with Rev. Mark Gause, Pastor, officiating. 

Interment will be at Harris Cemetery in Alhambra, IL. 

Memorial contributions may be made to National MPS Society or Harris Cemetery.
