Dwight Ray Presson, beloved son of Eura B.(Rector) Presson and Leonard Presson passed away on July 16 , 2011. Born May 11,1950, Dwight was her only son and the apple of her eye. She was devoted to his care and together they lived in East Alton, Ill until her passing in May 1997. Dwight was regarded as an ambassador of good will in his Wilshire neighborhood where he was loved by residents and shop owners alike. After his mother’s death, Dwight joined the Beverly Farm “Family” and made friends with those he met. He loved his friends there and was loved by them in return. He was always ready to share his smile and pass on a compliment . Dwight loved God and all music praising God. He also was a fan of country western music. This was evident in his ability to play the harmonica. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Verla Miller, Mary E. Eckhard, Glenda Bivens and Phyllis Cook. He is survived by nieces, nephews and extended family as well as his Beverly Farm family. Gent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements with burial at Valhalla Cemetery in Godfrey, Il. There will be private funeral services. Memorials may be made to Beverly Farm.
