Dr. Malcolm Goldsmith

Dr. Malcolm Goldsmith age 68, of Sanibel, Florida, formerly of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, in Edwardsville. He was born September 17, 1952, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late Simon & Sylvia (Augenstein) Goldsmith. Malcolm retired from SIU-E in 2010, where he was the Coordinator of Health Education. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Holly (Miller) Goldsmith; daughter, Sierra Goldsmith; and two brothers, Steve & Lon Goldsmith.
Dr. Goldsmith taught at SIU-E from 1978 to 2010. Being a health educator was not just what he did it was who he was.He was highly involved in the profession at both the local & national level. He participated & led many professional organizations; he was published in multiple books and professional publications. However, his true love & passion was in service. He genuinely cared for all his students & was committed to mentoring their success in health education. Dr. Goldsmith was very involved with the National Health Education Honorary, Eta Sigma Gamma.
The world is a healthier place having had Dr. Goldsmith in it.
Visitation will be held from 1p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at funeral home, followed by the burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville.
