Douglas Streubel

Douglas John Streubel, 61, died at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehab.

Born September 9, 1963 in Jerseyville, he was the son of John E. and Mary Kay (Durston) Streubel of Jerseyville.

Doug served in the U.S. Army and retired from the State of Illinois as a Secretary of the State Policeman. Doug also volunteered with the Q.E.M. Fire Department and also as a Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 9 in Elsah. His other jobs included a certified welder and jobs in the rigging industry.

He loved working on farms growing up and into adulthood and it was a large part of his personality. He spent time on his uncle’s farm growing up and that developed his love of agriculture. In his free time, he was an avid Harley rider who enjoyed the outdoors of South Dakota and automobile sports. Doug was very family oriented, and family was important to him.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Ashley Streubel, one brother, Carl Streubel (Kelly) and one sister, Kathy Moody (Dave), eight nieces and nephews and six great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Monday,

June 30, 2025 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Meadowbrook. Pastor Kevin Auten will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Carl Streubel Family for his fight against colon cancer.
