Dorothy Klinke-Cannon, 93, died early morning, December 21, 2014 at Eunice C Smith Nursing Home.
Born July 30, 1921, in Alton, the daughter of Lawrence Klinke and Anna Budde-Klinke. Both deceased.
She married Elmer Bridgewater in 1946. He died in 1983.
She was married to George Cannon in 1987. He died November 1998.
She graduated Alton High School in 1939 and worked for Olin Corporation in the payroll department until she retired in 1979. She was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church and a lifelong resident of the Alton\Godfrey area.
Survivors include a brother Larry and Rosemary Klinke, a sister Sylvia Klinke, stepson George and Sandra Lou Cannon, Jr, stepson Conrad and Terry Cannon, stepdaughter Cynthia and Lani Allen. Grandchildren Amber Allen, Brandon Allen, Holly Allen Limbaugh and George Cannon, III., and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Klinke, sisters, Anna Bull, Adelaide Wright, Elizabeth Mallender, Mildred Imirie, Avelline Gearhart and MaryLu Ryan.
Per her wish her body will be donated to Washington University School of Medicine for medical study.
A memorial visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Main Street United Methodist Church. Donations may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church.
