Dorothy Jean 'DoJe' Mottaz, 89, of St. Louis, Mo (formerly of Alton, IL) passed away February 24, 2021.
Born December 23, 1931 in Alton, she was the daughter of Eugene K. and Dorothy Kathryn (Hartung) Elfgen. She married Ronald C. Mottaz on August 15, 1953.
He survives along with two daughters, Vicky Osborn (David) of Godfrey, Susan Leonard (Joe) of Alton, and one son, Mark Mottaz (Ainette) of St. Louis. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; Vicky's daughters, Heather Wheeler (Chris) and their sons Lucas and Parker, Kelly Stafford (Andy) and their daughters Valarie, Caitlyn, and Maxine; Susan's children Matthew, Bradley, Natalie, and Mackenzie Leonard; and Mark's daughters Gabrielle Mottaz and Brianna Finnegan. A brother-in-law, Rick Mrkacek, also survives.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Suzanne J. Mrkacek.
DoJe loved working in her yard, making flower arrangements, listening to music, dancing, family vacations in Florida, and a nice glass of wine. But most of all, she loved her family. Every family get together was highlighted with a toast from Grandma DoJe of, 'We are so lucky!'
