Dorothy Eileene Timpe, 86, died at 2:10 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2012 at St. Louis University Hospital.She was born in Jersey County on March 29, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Edward & Pearl (Russell) McGowen.In her early years, she had worked at the Owens-Illinois Glass Works in Alton, and International Shoe Factory in Jerseyville, and St. Louis, Mo. She later worked alongside her husband, Kenneth Timpe in the timber business, skidding logs and driving trucks.She married Kenneth Florian Timpe on June 30, 1962 in Godfrey, and they shared nearly 37 years together before his death on April 12, 1999.Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Marshall of Jerseyville; a son & daughter in law, Albert & Amber Hagen of Brighton; five grandchildren & their spouses, Michael & Missy Marshall of Moro, Christina & Mike Kelso of Alton, Patrick Marshall of Wood River, Robert & Carla Hagen of Brighton, and Beverly & Craig Wallace of Brighton; eleven great grandchildren, Tyler & Trenton Hagen, Samantha Pohlman, Brittni & Michael Kelso, Krisha & Kirsten Wallace, Travis & Sydney Marshall, Julian Marshall, Sebastian LaDesma; a great great granddaughter, Isabella Batson.She was preceded in death by a son in law, Marvin Marshall; three sisters, Gladys Mount, Opal Priest and Sadie McGowen; and two brothers, Lawrence McGowen & Walter McGowen.Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Monday until time of funeral services at 3 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Rev. Wilbur Cain will officiate.Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.In lieu of all flowers and plants, memorial donations to the Jersey Community Hospital Emergency Room expansion would be greatly appreciated
