Neosho, MO—Dorothy E. “Nanny” Biggerstaff, 92, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at her home.
Born Dec. 9, 1924 in Saline County, IL, she was a daughter of Archie and Stella (Morten) McKinnies.
She married Finnis E. Biggerstaff June 1, 1942 in Broughton, IL. He preceded her in death Aug. 28, 2006.
Nanny owned and operated her own day care from her home for several years.
She is survived by a daughter, Christena Frye of Mississippi; 5 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and a sister, Muriel Simmons of Eldorado, IL.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Charles Edward and Finnis Ray Biggerstaff; a granddaughter; and three brothers, Walter, Charles and George McKinnies.
Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 11 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 9 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
In lieu of flowers, it would please Nanny if the Ronald McDonald House or the Shriner’s Hospital for Children could be remembered.
