Dorothy “Dotti” Elizabeth Keith, 61, passed away at 10:50 pm Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at her residence with her loving husband, Jim, and family by her side.
She was born on February 25, 1952 in St.Louis, Mo. to the late Frank Ellery Seaman and Melva Jean (Albrecht) Seaman who survives.
Two heavenly souls collided in love when she met Jim Keith through a “personal” ad she placed in the River Front Times Newspaper in June 1988. These two souls were joined for eternity in holy matrimony on May 20, 1989 and enjoyed 24 happy years together.
Dotti was employed at Maritz Improvement Corporation as a Project Manager. In later years, she was the coordinator of the Foster Grandparent Program at Senior Service Plus in Alton. She enjoyed driving and owning antique cars, traveling the world for Maritz Corporation. She loved visiting Disney World (Especially the Haunted Castle which she could ride for hours on end). She was an avid Wizard of Oz fan, and had a vast collection of Wizard of Oz items and ceramic figurines from many of the Walt Disney classic movies. She enjoyed crocheting and making quilts. She showed her love and devotion to her family, especially the younger members, by crocheting or quilting a blanket for each of them at their births.
She is survived by her loving husband Jim, and her mother Melva, four step-children; Jamie Keith of Cottage Hills, IL, J. Christopher Keith of Alton, IL, Angie and her spouse Frank Street of Meadowbrook, IL and John Keith of East Alton, IL, seven grandchildren; Dustin and Devin Caldwell, Sylvia Barrett, Rhianna Neel, Ananda Keith, Mia Keith (of Monterey Mexico) and Anthony Ulrich, six brothers; Larry and his spouse Darlene Seaman of Green River, WY, Frank and his spouse Brenda Seaman of Everett, WY, Fred Seaman of Sunrise Beach, MO, Eddie and his spouse Connie Seaman of Mack’s Creek, MO, and Donnie Seaman of Hillsboro, IL, two sisters; Evalyn and her spouse Michael Key of Sunrise Beach, MO and Sondra and her spouse Tim Wollbrinck of Beaufort, MO, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a grand daughter Jacqueline Keith and a brother David Seaman.
Memorial visitation will be Monday July 22, 2013 from 4pm, with a ceremony celebrating Dotti’s life, at 7pm, at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Private Burial will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the St. Louis Zoo Association, Elephant Habitat.
