Doris V. Ferguson, 87, passed away at 9:17 am on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton, while under the care of BJC Hospice.
She was born on June 13, 1925 in Jersey County, IL, the daughter of Louis and Audrey (Clark) Weaver.
She married Charles “Tate” Ferguson on November 6, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. He passed away on April 21, 2001.
Doris was a homemaker most of her life. She was a former member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Rosewood Heights. She enjoyed watching birds, being outside and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two grandchildren and a spouse, Michelle and Chris Borror and Chris Ferguson all of Bethalto; four great grandchildren, Lauren, Alex, Chelsea and Jenna and a sister-in-law, Esther Weaver of Jerseyville.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Ralph Ferguson and a brother, Ralph Weaver.
Visitation will be from 10 until service time at 11 am on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with Pastor Mike Rayson officiating.
Memorials may be made to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Cardiology Department.
