Donnalee Ann Schenk

Donnalee Ann Schenk, 77, passed away at 5:22 am on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Christian Hospital NE in St. Louis, MO.



She was born on September 14, 1933 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Gerald R. and Irene M. (Zumwalt) Watson.



She married Eugene A. Schenk on November 19, 1955 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. 

 

Donnalee graduated in 1954 as a registered nurse.  She worked at St. Louis City Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Wood River Township Hospital.  She previously was a member of the St. Kevin’s Altar Society at St. Kevin’s Catholic Church and currently a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto.



She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Karen and Steven Elick of Moro, IL, Ruth Muick of WY and Cathy and Andy Staley of Marborough, MA; two sons and their wives, David and Melinda Schenk of Meadowbrook and Keith and Deana Schenk of Springfield; twelve grandchildren, Adam, Stephanie, and Patricia Elick, Albert Muick, Richard, David Lee and Daniel Schenk, Nathan and Adrianna Staley, Elizabeth, Benjamin and Madeline Schenk and one sister, Geraldine Waggoner of Chino Hill, CA and her nieces and nephews.



In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Watson. 

 

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Friday, December 17, 2010 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto.



In accordance to her wishes her body was donated to St. Louis University School of Medicine. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church Building Fund or Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
