Donna Rae Barton

Donna Rae Barton, 51, passed away at 12:18 pm Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Christian Hospital NE with family and friends by her side.

She was born on December 27, 1961 at Alton, IL, the daughter of the late Ralph K. & Helen L. (Leach) Rader.

She married Robert J. Barton at the 1st United Methodist Church in Wood River on May 28, 1983. He survives.

Donna was a graduate of SIUE. She was employed as an RN supervisor at Christian Hospital NE for 23 years. She was a member of the 1st Christian Church of Bethalto. She enjoyed telling gods stories, riding with her husband on their motorcycle and participating in the MS 150 marathons. She loved to spend time with her family, friends and especially her granddaughter Emma.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Eric & Heather Barton of DeRidder, LA; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lindsey & Joshua Dale of Gilbert, AZ and Megan Barton of Bethalto, IL; one granddaughter, Emma Barton; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Rick & Robin Rader of Roxana and Randy Rader of St. Peters, MO and her mother-in-law, Bette L. Barton of Bethalto.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Dennis “Den” Rader; father-in-law, Wm Jason Barton and sister-in-law, Pam Rader.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.

A funeral service will be at 10 am Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the 1st Christian Church in Bethalto with Pastor Derrell Brame III officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to the 9th Floor AMCU at Christian Hospital NE.
