Donald R. Runion, 74, passed away Sunday morning, February 6, 2011. He was born Feb. 2, 1927 in East St. Louis, Ill. to Dallas and Daisy (Elzy) Runion.
He married Wynona Pearl Delp March 29, 1969 in Alton. She survives. The U.S. Army veteran worked as a mixer driver for the Teamsters, Local #525.
In addition to his wife, surviving are three sons, Donald R. Runion, Jr. of East Alton, Steven E. Runion of Hinesville, Ga., and Reggie N. Runion of Worden; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; three brothers, Lee Arthur (Jean) Runion of Meadowbrook, Carl A. (Sharon) Runion of Doniphan, Mo.; and Everett (Betty) Runion of South Roxana; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, where Rev. Rocky Runion will officiate services at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10.
Interment will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to the 5 A’s animal shelter in Alton.
