Donald Crane
Alton |

Donald Eugene Crane, born on June 10, 1939, went to be with his wife, Linda, on March 12, 2025. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Linda Crane on November 10, 2023. They were introduced by Linda’s brother, Michael, and were married in six weeks, having spent almost 57 years together. Since her passing he has only wanted to be with her again and surely passed away from a broken heart.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Ruth Crane, brother, Ray “Sonny Man” Crane Jr., sisters, Rosie Mae Leone, Birdie Lee Cross, Shirley Callahan, and Virginia “Ginny” Taylor.
Don is survived by his two daughters, Pam (Lee) Koenig of St. Louis, MO, and Sheary (Tom) Meyer of Nashville, TN. Four grandchildren, Stan and Rylee Koenig, Aiden and Addison Meyer. He will be missed greatly by his granddogs, Stella, Willow, Yadi and Nash, who are always excited to see PaPa.
Don retired from Canteen Vending. He loved to hunt and fish, bowled on numerous teams over the years, was a king on the horseshoe pits, loved camping with his family and spent much time working his Search Word puzzles. He closely followed the NCAA Basketball Tournaments and just commented that he didn’t have his bracket to work yet. No matter where Don went, he always saw someone he knew.
Don and Linda enjoyed spending time with their good friends, Terry and Betty Burns, Bill and Nancy Tierney, Ed and Rosalie Huebner the “Home Before Dark Gang.”
