Donald C. “Duba” Wiley, 58, of Maryville, Illinois passed away at 7:28 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
He was born November 4, 1963, in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of the late Alvin D. and Margaret L. (Bell) Wiley.
He had worked for Terminal Railroad Association with over 20 years of dedicated service as a mechanic.
Donald proudly served his country with the United States Army during Desert Storm and was the recipient of numerous medals, ribbons, and awards. He enjoyed the outdoors and his days of hunting and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephen and Vickie Wiley of Maryville and William and Felicia Wiley of Glen Carbon; two sisters and brother-in-law, Kathleen Wiley of Maryville, Joanne and Daniel Provaznik of Maryville; brother-in-law, Richard Dawdy of Granite City; nieces and nephews, Jason, Jodi, Kevin, Miranda, Andrew, Marissa, Joshua, Elizabeth, and Stephanie; other extended family and friends.
In addition to his beloved parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Dawdy.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12:00 noon with Reverend Sharon Autenrieth officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
Memorials may be made to the Got Your Six Support Dogs in Maryville or to the Maryville Fire Department and may be accepted at the funeral home.
