Don C. Myers, age 86 died at 9:43 am on Friday, March 11, 2011 at his home. He was born on December 7, 1924 in Illinois and was the son of the late Lillian (Palmer) Rodenberg. Don was a US Marine Corps veteran serving in WW II, a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Alton and retired after 40 years of service from Owens IL Glass in Alton.
On Nov. 25, 1945 in West Frankfurt, Il he married the former Margaret D. (Swann) and she preceded him in death on June 14, 1994. Surviving are two daughters; Cheryl Henson and her husband Robert of Alton and Carolyn Schmidt of Godfrey, five grandchildren; Darren Plopper of Alton, John McLain of Brighton, Don Ivester of Hollywood, Fl, Stephanie Connors of Shipman and John Lawson of Wood River, five great-grandchildren; Nichole, Stephen and Devon Plopper of Alton and Thomas and Logan Connors of Shipman, two great-great grandchildren; Isabella Plopper of Wood River and Ethan Riedeisser of Alton, and two brothers and four sisters. He was preceded in death by a son in law; Ron Schmidt and two brothers.
Per his request there will be cremation with no services.
Memorials may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Alton.
