Dianne Barbey, age 79 of Litchfield, Illinois, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Interment will follow in Campground Cemetery. In lieu of plants and flowers please make a memorial to Core Community, helping to end poverty in the community.
Dianne Ruth Barbey was born May 19, 1945, in Highland, Illinois. She was the daughter of Vallee Roy and Mildred Irene Russell Barbey. She grew up on the family farm, attended the local schools and graduated from Greenville High School. She went on to some college after high school.
Diane worked for the State of Illinois for over 40 years. She was a good friend to many and loved by all. Diane went to the Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield and has been a resident of Litchfield for many years.
Survived by her brother David Barbey and wife Dona, niece Sharon (Barbey) Fitzgerald and husband Scott, nephew Jeffrey Barbey and wife Judy, great-nieces and nephews: Megan Fitzgerald, Camden Fitzgerald, Emily Barbey and Matthew Barbey.
Preceded in death by her parents Vallee and Mildred, sister in infancy Barbara Ann, grandparents Oscar and Irene Barbey, and Emil and Martha Russell.
