Devyn G. Shaw, 16, went to Heaven to be an angel at 12:04 pm on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at his home under the care of BJC Hospice.
He was born on July 12, 1995 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Jerrad and Stephanie (Bond) Shaw.
Devyn loved music, especially Barney and the movie Sand Lot. He touched everyone with his loving smile. He fought a courageous battle with cerebral palsy and the world will miss out on a wonderful young man.
In addition to his parents of East Alton, he is survived by a sister, Mariah Shaw of East Alton; his grandparents, Spencer and Roxanne Bond of East Alton, Laura Mann of Wood River and David Shaw of Katy, TX; his great grandmothers, Peggy Nolan of Alton and Dorothy Masterson of Bethalto; an aunt, Shonda Bond of East Alton and her daughter, Alexa Hammond; a great aunt, Penny Heaton of Hartford and his caregivers from Maxim Health Care, Nicole Duncan, Bob Burroughs, Carol Carlson and Pam Fields.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, where funeral services will be at 10 am Saturday, May 12, 2012 with Rev. Kim Allen officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
