Dennis L. Rodgers, 61, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at his home.
Born June 9, 1960, he was a son of Paul C. Rodgers, Sr. and Theresa (Eastham) Rodgers.
Dennis was a proud 20-year veteran of the United States Army, serving in Operation Desert Storm. Most recently, he worked as a forklift operator for Imperial Manufacturing in Alton. He enjoyed woodworking and riding his Harley-Davidson. He was a member of the Cottage Hills VFW Post #7678. His favorite thing of all was being his grandson Camden’s “Paw-Paw”.
Surviving are a daughter, Denise Rodgers of Wood River; a son, Harrison Rodgers of Louisville, KY; his grandson, Camden Rodgers; a sister, Marie (Daniel) Pichee of Alton; two brothers, Bob (Shelby) Rodgers and Paul Rodgers, Jr., all of Bethalto; a sister-in-law, Irene Rodgers of Bethalto; many nieces and nephews; and his special friend and former wife, Brenda Rodgers of Alton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carolyn Davis; two brothers, William and James Rodgers; and his beloved dog, Pugslee.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13 at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
Burial with full military honors will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Wounded Warrior’s Project.
