Dennis Hale, 60, passed away at 6:22 am Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

He was born on January 31, 1954 in Alton, IL, the son of Donald R. and Naomi Joyce (Lockard) Hale.

He married Kamela “Kam” Ekstam on June 8, 1985 in East Alton.  They celebrated 29 years of marriage. She survives.

Dennis served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1973 until 1985.  He has worked at Scott Air Force Base in the HVAC department for more than 20 years.  He was a homebody who loved watching baseball, listening to  music and enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his father and his wife, Donald and Carolyn Hale of East Alton and his mother Naomi of Cahokia; his children and their spouses, Brandon and Sara Hale of Nashville, TN, Jaree and Chad Kneller of Clarksville, TN and Casey Bruehl of St. Charles, MO; three grandchildren, Gavin, Ava and Elijah; his siblings and their spouses, Craig Hale of Godfrey, Kevin and Teresa Hale of Granite City and Stacy and Steve Reese of East Alton; two aunts, Aunt “Pete” Norma McCormick and Aunt Louise Hale and four nieces, four nephews and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by an uncle, Ben McCormick.

Visitation will be from 3 until services at 6 pm Friday, September 26, 2014 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Timothy Keller officiating.

Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church in East Alton.
