Dennis J. Funk, 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2024, at his home.
He was born on December 12, 1951, in Woodriver, IL to the late John and Thelma (Snyders) Funk.
Dennis served in the United States Army. He worked as a Journeyman Lineman for Ameren Illinois through Local IBEW 649 where he retired from. He loved hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden. He would travel to Lake Okeechobee in Florida during the winter months with his best friend and companion, Michelle Cummings.
Dennis is survived by two sons, Chance (Kisha) Funk and Chet (Vanesa) Funk; companion, Michelle Cummings; two siblings, Mike (Linda) Funk and Nancy (Casey) Johnson; five grandchildren, Kody (Jamie) Funk, Blake Funk, EmmaLyn Funk, Ellee Funk, and Paxton Funk; one great grandchild, Wayne Dean Funk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his sister, Mary Lee Merkel.
Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
Celebration of Life will be July 20, 2024, from 12 to 5 p.m. at Hills and Hollers Lodge in Batchtown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to BJC Hospice.
