Delores Arvella Holland was called home at 2:30 p.m. May 20, 2024, at her home in Dow surrounded by her loved ones. She was born April 20, 1935, in Michael, IL the daughter of Arthur and Arvella (Kimmis) Branham. She was formerly married to Leonard Cottingham and James Holland. She worked at Alton Mental Health for 26 years where she retired.
She is survived by her daughter Arvella Noel, son-in-law Denver Groves, stepson Terry Holland (Sandy), grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild.
She loved to go dancing, playing bingo, and crocheting blankets and dolls for those she loved. But what she loved the most was spending time with family and friends. Many called her different names such as Grandma Bingo and Fritz (the nickname her father gave her). She had the sweetest soul and everyone that met her loved her and she loved them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first and second husbands, 9 siblings, her son James Cottingham, daughter Lela Groves, son-in-law Edward Noel, and grandson Brian Cottingham.
Visitation will be from 9am until the time of the funeral at 11 am at Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin. Burial will follow at the Hardin Cemetery.
