Della Mae Freeman, 92, of Godfrey, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born on August 4, 1932, in Jerseyville, the daughter of the late Otto and Lillie (Down) Rothe.
Della married Howard Freeman on June 30, 1951, in Jerseyville. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2004.
She retired from Alton School District as the food service manager and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Brighton.
Della is survived by five children, Dennis Freeman, Brenda (Doug) Harp, Kenneth (Marlene) Freeman, Kevin (Laurie Cummings) Freeman, and Jean (Scott) Johns; 12 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; siblings Verna Hewitt and Ina (Bill) Lowis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings Melvin Rothe, John Rothe, Charles Rothe, Robert Rothe, Frank Rothe, Wilbur Rothe, Eileen Voorhees, Evelyn Mundy, and Nina Darr; daughter in law Sherry Freeman.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Brighton.
Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Brighton.
