Debra K. (Herrmann) Stumpf, 60, passed away at 8:50 a.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at her residence after a three and half year battle with breast cancer.She was born in Golden Eagle on Aug. 7, 1955, the daughter of Herbert and Margaret (Seidler) Herrmann.She grew up in the East Hardin area, and graduated from Calhoun High School. Her personality lead her to various occupations where she was able to interact with the public, such as Ye OldeGrogge Shoppe and McCarry'sDairyland. She was employed with the Jersey County Shopper for many years, where she became acquainted and friends with many in the business community, as she visited their establishments, setting up that perfect advertisement.For the last six years, Debra was blessed to have Gregory McCarry in her life. The two hit if off immediately, and enjoyed many times together, socializing with family and friends, and taking in the Lake of the Ozarks any chance they got. In November of 2012, Deb was diagnosed with breast cancer, and Greg stood by her every step of the way, accompanying her to the vast amount of doctor and hospital visits, encouraging her in every way, and being the rock that she needed.Although more time was desperately wanted between the two, they both cherish the time that they had together.Also surviving are members of her beloved family who will miss her dearly and cherish her memory forever, her father, Herbert Herrmann of Jerseyville; a sister & brother in law, Ruth & William Burchell of Monongahela, Pa.; two brothers & a sister in law, Daniel & Diane Herrmann of Hardin and Dennis Herrmann of Indiana; a nephew and a niece, Adam Herrmann and Abigail Herrmann both of Hardin; Greg's children & their spouses, Pamela McCarry of Las Vegas,Nv., Shannon & Jeff Olson and Robin & Jim Davidson all of Jerseyville, and Holly and Andy Voss of Roxana; and her favorite Maltese, Darby.She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret "Marge" Matherly.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where a Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville, with Father William Hembrow officiating.Burial will be in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to either the St. Francis/Holy Ghost Catholic Schools or to the Jersey County Health Department.
