Deborah Lynn Fox., age 56 died at 5:40 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2011 at her home. She was born in Alton, the daughter of Estella (Sons) Martin of Godfrey and the late Jerry Martin. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She taught part-time at St. Mary’s School and Evangelical Pre-School. She was a musician and private flute instructor, active member and former president of Alton Symphony Orchestra and past president of the YWCA Board.
She married Christopher Fox on August 30, 1974 in Godfrey and he survives. Also surviving are one daughter; Angela Collins and her husband Andrew of Austin, TX, one son; Zach Fox and his wife Bethany of Rosewood Heights and two grandchildren arriving shortly. Also surviving, one brother; David Martin of Brighton, two sisters, Jane Jacoby of Colorado Springs, CO, and Bobbie Rhodes and her husband Glenn of Godfrey, two nieces; Kryste Buoniconti and Jennifer Brown, three nephews; Jason Jacoby, Aaron Rhodes and Matthew Rhodes.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.
Memorials may be made to the Alton Symphony Orchestra or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
