Deborah K. "Debbie" Cooperider, 55, passed away at 1:20pm on Monday, May 2, 2011, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 29, 1956, in Jerseyville, Illinois, the daughter of the late Russell and Verna (Gowin) Morgan.
She married Gary Cooperider on April 30, 1981, in Wood River and he survives. Other survivors include two daughters and a son in law: Erica and Jason Riedisser of Roxana, Morgan Cooperider at home, two sisters and a brother in law: Margie and Clark Watson of Jerseyville, Betty Lueker of Alton, four brothers and sisters in law: Stanley Morgan of Bunker Hill, Richard and Judy Morgan of Dow, Clyde and Ursula Morgan of Grafton, Jim and LInda Morgan of Grafton, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, her mother in law: Erma Cooperider of Wood River, a very close friend: Linda Davis, and her faithful dog: Taffy.
A graduate of Jerseyville High School, she was employed as a receiving clerk at the East Alton Shop N Save for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Donald Morgan and Paul Morgan.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be held from 3pm to 8pm on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Following visitation and in accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
Private inurnment will be at Noble Cemetery in Otterville, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Morgan Cooperider Education Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
